Wooden Feather Day
The first is Wooden Feather Day noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 30 at the Bird Center.Area wood carvers will be on hand and each will submit a wooden feather that they have carved. The visitors will vote on their favorite feather and awards will be presented to the winners. The carvers will also have items for sale. There is also a marsh walk scheduled at 1:30 p.m. that provides a chance to see some of the area that is usually closed to the public. There will be a warm fire and free refreshments also. This event is co sponsored by Maumee Bay Carvers and the Friends of Magee Marsh. The other special free event planned is the second annual Holiday Open House, 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5 at the Bird Center. There will be childrens activities, a raffle, and Christmas cookies for sale as part of the event. Magee Marsh Wildlife Area is located at 13229 W.
